Biography

⁠Michél Friess is considered one of the most outstanding German Pop Art artists. His recognition is reflected in numerous awards, including the “International Leonardo Da Vinci Prize” and the “Global Art Award 2020” in Shanghai, where he was awarded 1st place in the Mixed Media / Graffiti category. This success consolidated his position as a leading representative of German contemporary pop art.

Since 2016, when Friess broke through internationally, his works have been represented in over 70 renowned galleries worldwide, alongside icons such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Born in Neustadt an der Weinstraße in the summer of 1970, his career began in Neustadt, where his interest in art, especially street art, was evident from an early age. After an artistic break, he returned to Pop Art with full commitment in 2008.

Friess’ artworks, characterised by attention to detail and passion, represent a significant contribution to the contemporary art scene.

⁠Michél Friess's Artworks

His unique works are created in his studio in Kaiserslautern, a converted file factory from the 1950s. Each picture is a handmade one-off, characterised by complex techniques such as painting, the use of spray cans, hand screen printing and paper collages. His paintings are not only visually impressive, but also tell stories and capture the viewer's thoughts.

His work “Never Give Up” was auctioned for an impressive €32,000.
